Flat racing in Britain will return to 48-hour declarations from next Wednesday, it was announced by the BHA.

All declarations for meetings on Wednesday will have to be made by 10am on Monday, while jump fixtures will use 48-hour declarations when back on July 1.

Trainers have been required to declare runners 72 hours in advance of meetings since British racing resumed on June 1.

A BHA press release read: “We recognise the use of 72-hour declarations has created additional challenges for all participants, and want to thank you again for your flexibility in adjusting to these new requirements.

“This change is only possible due to the support of trainers and other raceday attendees in supplying accurate and timely information to support the new and revised safety and infection control protocols, including the medical screening.”
