Last week's horses to follow - including a half-sister to a Grade 1 winner
With our expert race readers watching – and writing a descriptive in-running comment for – every horse who runs in Britain and Ireland, there are three different categories used to denote those who are most appealing with the future in mind.
Members' Club Ultimate subscribers can add the names of the horses mentioned to their Racing Post Horse Tracker and will then receive email alerts when they are entered or declared again.
On their next start, the horses will be flagged in Signposts, which can be found in the Racing Post newspaper or online as part of Members' Club on raceday.
Non-members can sign up here to get the tracker, race replays and in-depth race analysis, as well as exclusive content from our team of tipsters and writers.
Eyecatcher
Third Batch
Second, Lingfield, January 7
Caught the eye with her strong finish from a poor position. She's well bred and can do better again.

Buraback
Sixth, Wolverhampton, January 5
Ran a fair race last time, but couldn't get to grips with the principals and he might be worth a shot over another furlong as he ran on stoutly.

Kraken Power (entered Thursday and Friday)
Fifth, Newcastle, January 4
Finished a close third in a better course-and-distance contest the previous month and would have got much closer with a cleaner passage through this race and remains one to note.

Port Noir
Second, Wolverhampton, January 3
With the visor refitted, she fared the best of those to come from off the pace and she may even have won had she not been denied room at a crucial stage. She can make amends.

Did well in the circumstances
Red Alert(declared Tuesday, 8.30 Southwell)
Third, Wolverhampton, January 3
Posted his best effort since winning over 7f at Brighton in September, a slight check late on not affecting the result. His stable is in good nick and he's on a handy mark.

Confederation
Third, Wolverhampton, January 3
Tried in a tongue-tie and in a hood, he posted his best handicap performance. He may not be entirely straightforward but the return to 6f might help.

Promising
Ici La Reine
First, Newcastle, January 7
From the family of the smart bumper winner/jumper La Bague Au Roi. Was impressive on her debut, quickening up well in the straight to score a comfortable win. She could be decent.

Out Of Focus
Fourth, Ffos Las, January 5
A 34,000euros purchase as a three-year-old, he is a brother to 2m4f hurdle winner Pale Blue Dot. He did plenty wrong on his racecourse debut but ran a race full of promise. He'll need to settle better but looks to have a good amount of ability.

Florida Dreams
First, Musselburgh, January 3
Cost 34,000euros and is closely related to a point/2m4f hurdle winner. Created a good impression to beat the two more experienced market leaders on this racecourse debut. He has plenty to recommend him on looks and he's the type to do well over further when he goes jumping.
