Ladbrokes and Coral close 200 betting shops following FOBT stake reduction

GVC Holdings acquired the Ladbrokes estate in March 2018
Around 200 Ladbrokes and Coral betting shops are understood to have shut their doors for good last weekend in the latest wave of closures to hit the retail sector.
Although parent company GVC Holdings would not confirm the figure, it is believed around 200 shops have been shut.
The closures are in reaction to the government's decision to cut the maximum stake on fixed odds betting terminals (FOBTs) to £2 from £100, a move that was implemented last April.
