'Lack of strategy is a disgrace' - prominent owner Jon Hughes takes aim at ROA

Prominent owner Jon Hughes has criticised the Racehorse Owners Association (ROA) for failing to finalise its ownership strategy, labelling its absence as "a disgrace".

The project is one component of British racing's recovery plan, which was published by industry leaders last month and suggested the ROA's strategy would be ready to publish in the "coming weeks", once it has been approved by the BHA's members committee.

The ROA was first set the task of producing an ownership strategy in 2017 and has received more than £1 million in levy funding.
