Kinane and Murtagh back Classic stars to thrive in monster King George

Johnny Murtagh and Mick Kinane, two of the most successful jockeys in the history of the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Qipco Stakes, have put their weight behind the Classic generation to prevail against their star-studded elders after all six were declared for Saturday's blockbuster contest (3.35).

Impressive Irish Derby winner Westover and narrow Oaks second Emily Upjohn will represent the three-year-olds, but they face stiff opposition at Ascot with last year's second Mishriff, shock Arc winner Torquator Tasso, Royal Ascot victor Broome and top-level scorer Pyledriver in opposition.

However, Murtagh and Kinane, winners of nine King Georges between them, believe the market has it right with Westover and Emily Upjohn their respective picks to come out on top in the £1.25 million race.
