Watch your back, Pat! Johnny Murtagh might be retired, Joseph O'Brien and Mick Kinane too, but there is a 22-year-old ravenous rider who is hellbent on becoming champion jockey and he is edging ever closer to achieving his dream.

Pat Smullen will be crowned champion for the ninth time at Leopardstown next Sunday but Colin Keane wants to be the one to prevent him from notching a tenth next season.

He has already secured his best ever season with 79 winners in Ireland and he sits in second spot in the jockeys' championship, with a yawning gap of 22 back to Billy Lee in third.
