Katie Walsh is aiming to get one over on the trainers in Saturday's charity polo match at the Ballyhenry Estate in County Wicklow, from which all proceeds will be going to the Irish Injured Jockeys Fund.

Walsh will line up alongside teammates Bryan Cooper, Sean Flanagan and Davy Russell on the jockeys' team that will take on the trainers that will include Tony Martin, Andrew McNamara and Joseph O'Brien.

The top amateur said: "Training has gone great and I have to say polo has been very addictive for me. If we weren't entering one of the busiest times of the year I would have liked to have got even more training in, but I have loved every minute of it so far and I can't wait to try to get one over on the trainers.

"It's all in aid of a brilliant cause and it should be great craic. I'm happy that both teams will also consist of polo players because some of us have had a bit of trouble actually hitting the ball!

"I can see how anyone who plays golf or hurling could be at an advantage because it is a lot tougher than it looks. I'm really looking forward to it and urge anyone who wants to be there to come along and offer their support."

The first match of the day is due to start at 12pm, and all are welcome.
