Irish jump racing's superpowers, Willie Mullins and Gordon Elliott, have given the thumbs-up to a new winter weekend triple-header next year, which will result in three high-class consecutive weekends of action at Navan, Punchestown and Fairyhouse.

The new-look winter schedule in Ireland in 2023 will mean a new Grade 1 weekend being introduced at Punchestown in November merging the Morgiana Hurdle and the John Durkan Chase, two races that Mullins has monopolised in recent years.

Horse Racing Ireland's fixture list for next year has yet to be published, but the Racing Post understands there will be three consecutive high-class weekends of quality jumping action from November running into early December.
