Jockeys split as Marquand and Egan call for end to 'stupid' one-meeting rule

Ryan Moore and Tom Marquand have reignited the debate around the one-meeting-per-day rule for jockeys by travelling overseas to ride at a second fixture.

Marquand, in particular, has stated he would like to see the rule abolished, while another rider called it a "restriction on trade".

The one-meeting restriction was introduced in 2020 as part of the sport's Covid-19 protocols to limit the risk of cross infection between weighing rooms and to keep travel to a minimum.
