Jockey out for at least six weeks after dislocating both shoulders

Alain Cawley is facing six to eight weeks on the sidelines after dislocating both his shoulders in a fall at Kempton on Sunday.

Cawley suffered the injuries when unseated from the Richard Hobson-trained Surf And Turf in a handicap chase, but was able to see a specialist on Monday after being discharged from St Peter's Hospital in Chertsey on Sunday evening.

The jump jockey said: "I'll be out for a minimum of six weeks. I'm not as sore as you would expect. I've got use of both hands, my right shoulder is a little bit better than the left so I've got a bit of movement and am not in absolute agony."
