ITV Racing tips: one key runner from each of the seven ITV races on Saturday
1.50 Newmarket
Godolphin Flying Start Zetland Stakes (Group 3), 1m2f
The race sponsors bid for back-to-back wins in this with Flying Honours, who was third in the Royal Lodge a fortnight ago. Galactic Jack and Batemans Bay are interesting opponents.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Flying Honours
He suffered a shock defeat here two weeks ago, but even that is probably comfortably ahead of any form offered by today's rivals
2.05 York
Coral Rockingham Stakes (Listed), 6f
Alpha Capture bids to end a six-year losing run for favourites in this race for last year's winning combination of Tom Marquand and William Haggas. The reliable Bolt Action is the main danger.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Bolt Action
Has already been placed three times at Listed level and won last time
Emirates Autumn Stakes (Group 3), 1m
Godolphin have won five of the last six runnings and are represented with Silver Knott. Epictetus and Holloway Boy appear the leading players.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Epictetus
Brings stacks of potential and made such a strong impression on the July course three months ago
2.40 York
Coral “Beaten-By-A-Length” Free Bet Handicap, 1m2½f
Marching Army boasts a 5-10 record and heads the betting for Saeed bin Suroor. Protagonist was tenth in the Cambridgeshire but second in his group of eight and may have more to offer.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Protagonist
William Haggas's five-year-old gets the verdict after shaping better than the bare result when tenth in the Cambridgeshire two weeks ago
3.00 Newmarket
Darley Dewhurst Stakes (Group 1), 7f
One of Britain's most prestigious two-year-old races has attracted a top-quality field. Juddmonte's Nostrum and Chaldean take on Godolphin's unbeaten Naval Power, while the Aidan O'Brien-trained Aesop's Fables cannot be discounted.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Nostrum
His recent course-and-distance success was the perfect sighter for this contest and he's taken to enhance his reputation and cement his claims for next year's 2,000 Guineas
Coral Sprint Trophy Handicap, 6f
Plenty of popular sprinters take their chance in this £100,000 handicap, with Dusky Lord arriving on the back of winning the Ayr Silver Cup. The six course-and-distance winners include Mr Wagyu and Dakota Gold.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Silver Samurai
Wasn't beaten far by Lethal Nymph five weeks ago and his course-and-distance third to Summerghand and Commanche Falls in August is a strong piece of form
3.40 Newmarket
Club Godolphin Cesarewitch Handicap, 2m2f
Recent years suggest jumps trainers have the edge in this one. Nicky Henderson, successful with Buzz last year, runs Ahorsewithnoname, while Willie Mullins, who won the race between 2018 and 2020, saddles Baby Zeus, Gibraltar and Scaramanga.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Vino Victrix
Looked better the further he went in two 2m races in August and is well handicapped judged on his smooth win at Goodwood last time
