Leicester's card on Monday has become the latest meeting to fall foul of the recent wet weather, after the track remained waterlogged following an inspection on Sunday morning.

Leicester joins Stratford and Cheltenham on the list of British courses forced to abandon a card due to sodden ground in the last week, following Stratford's lost fixture on November 11 and the cancellation of the first day of Cheltenham's November meeting on Friday.

In Ireland, Fairyhouse's meeting on November 11 was also cancelled owing to unraceable conditions.

Leicester clerk of the course James Stevenson said: "We've had an inch of rain this week on top of ground that was already heavy. Unfortunately it's just not dried up at all, we thought we might have seen some improvement since yesterday but it hasn't budged.

"The ground has been saturated for the last six weeks now and it's just not budging because the water table is so high. We need at least three or four days of dry weather for things to turn."

Leceister's next meeting is scheduled for December 1.
