'It's all a bit of an experiment' - Hugh Nugent to start jumps season in France

Conditional jockey Hugh Nugent has decided to start the autumn riding in France as he looks for fresh opportunities in the saddle.

The 27-year-old still plans to ride in Britain this season but with few rides to look forward to on home soil in October, he has temporarily joined trainer Emmanuel Clayeux, who is based in Vaumas between Paris and Lyon.

"Charlie Deutsch spent some time here last summer and he recommended that it might be a good thing to try," said Nugent. "I came out two weeks ago and it's all a bit of an experiment really.
