Christian Williams is "dreaming" of the Grand National as the end-of-season target for his stable star Win My Wings after she was forced to miss her intended starting point in the Charlie Hall Chase on Saturday due to a cut leg.

The trainer had made it clear that he thought the Wetherby Grade 2 was the ideal place to start – a plan that had been in place for 12 months – but withdrew her on Friday morning.

He said on Friday: "She just had a little nick on her leg. She must have knocked it yesterday afternoon and then I trotted her up this morning and she was just slightly unsound. It was best to take her out as going into a Charlie Hall everything needs to be right.
