There is no shortage of young talent in the Irish riding ranks at present but 2017 champion apprentice Oisin Orr is leading the charge to take home a second apprentice title this season, currently ten winners clear of his nearest pursuer Andrew Slattery.

The Donegal native, fresh from riding a double at Tipperary on Sunday, has already bettered his previous highest total by 12 winners, with a little over two and a half months to go in the campaign.

The rider, who has previously credited Richard Hughes as being one of his biggest riding inspirations growing up, said: "I'm delighted that things have been going well and it's brilliant to be getting the chances to ride some lovely quality horses, albeit every winner is important.
