Forget the Mares' Chase - owner of unbeaten Spindleberry has the Gold Cup on his mind

Fearghal Eastwood is dreaming of the Gold Cup rather than the Mares' Chase with his star runner Spindleberry after she extended her unbeaten chase record to four at Clonmel on Thursday.  

The seven-year-old reached a high level over hurdles, including when finishing second to Jade De Grugy in Grade 1 mares' company on her second start over obstacles at Fairyhouse last year, but has scaled even loftier heights since switching to fences.

After landing her chase debut at Cork and scoring in Listed company at Fairyhouse, the Willie Mullins-trained mare faced the geldings in the Grade 1 WillowWarm Gold Cup in April and put up a huge performance to power clear of Firefox and subsequent top-level scorer Champ Kiely.
