Troublesome section of Longchamp turf to receive attention ahead of Arc

France Galop have confirmed further remedial work will be carried out on the track at Longchamp in an attempt to avoid a repeat of the dust clouds that the horses kicked up during last Sunday's Arc Trials card.

Large sections of the turf were re-seeded during the six-week summer break after an unusually cold and wet spring during which the track suffered excessive wear-and-tear.

There was a difference of opinion on Sunday among jockeys as to how the course rode, with Olivier Peslier telling journalists that, although the dust clouds in the false straight and the top of the home straight "did not look good from the outside," he felt the track rode fine.
