Racing in Singapore to recommence from July 11

Racing will resume behind closed door in Singapore on Saturday, July 11, more than three months after the fixture list was halted at the start of April.

Racing has not been conducted in Singapore since April 7, when the Singapore Government imposed a nationwide partial curfew known as 'Circuit Breaker' on non-essential services in a bid to curb the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

"With Singapore moving into phase two of the post-circuit breaker period on June 19, the Club has received approval from the Government to resume racing behind closed doors on July 11, with strict health and Safe Management Measures in place," a statement from the Singapore Turf Club read.

"To minimise the risks of Covid-19 transmission, the Singapore Racecourse will not reopen to the public for the time being.

"We thank our customers for their continued support and seek their understanding that these arrangements are necessary to ensure their safety and wellbeing, in alignment with the Government's regulations and guidelines."

The schedule from July 11 through until September will be announced on the Singapore Turf Club website.
