No Secret as Dschingis powers home for Klug

In a race billed as a rematch between longtime rivals Guignol and Iquitos, it was the Markus Klug-trained Dschingis Secret and Martin Seidl who crashed the party in emphatic style, powering to a three and three quarter length success.
Klug saddles seven runners in Sunday's Deutsches Derby but it will be memories of the Classic from 12 months ago that are stirred by Deschingis Secret's success.
Third past the post in a dramatic finish, the colt's owner, Horst Pudwill, has mounted appeals and even legal action to try and have the first two thrown out after their jockeys both broke the whip rules.
There was no such controversy here as Seidl tracked Filip Minarik on Guignol, before letting his mount stride on at the two furlong marker.
Guignol faded tamely to be fourth while Andreas Starke could make little impression aboard Iquitos, who overhauled Nepal to finish second.
