Tuesday: Deauville

A day of bountiful success for the visitors began with victory in the Group 3 Prix de Pysche for Trevaunance in the Kyprios colours of Moyglare Stud under Shane Foley.

Perhaps put off by her fifth-placed effort against the boys at Leopardstown in the Meld Stakes, Trevaunance was allowed by pari-mutuel backers to go off at 18-1 but connections believe the homebred daughter of Muhaarar is a filly with a bright future.

Representing her mother Jessica, Kate Harrington said: "We'll have a chat with Fiona Craig and Eva Haefner [of Moyglare Stud] but she might come back for the three-year-old fillies-only race here on the 22nd [the Prix de la Nonette].

"She didn't run until June and it wasn't that there was anything wrong with her, she just kept growing."

Harrington added: "If she can win one or two races this year, next year will be her game. We'll go baby steps with her but she's a real progressive filly."

The Group 3 Darley Prix de Cabourg is a natural stepping stone towards the Group 1 Prix Morny and, while Aidan O'Brien has a lot of pieces to place in his juvenile jigsaw, The Antarctic looked to have booked a return trip to Normandy for the meeting's two-year-old highlight.

"He's progressed with every run and become very professional ," said O'Brien. "Mickael [Barzalona] was delighted with him the last day and he's worked very well since.

"The reason for coming today was the idea that he could be a horse for the Morny."

Runner-up Manhattan Jungle continued Amy Murphy's love affair with France, bouncing back from her first career defeat in the Queen Mary.

"I'm so happy to see her come back and run so well," said Murphy. "She wasn't great when she came back from Ascot and we've given her time to get over that.

"She'll come back to France at some stage and the big one [the Morny] is a possibility, but the idea long term is to go to the Breeders' Cup."

Sydneyarms Chelsea failed to build on her Albany fifth when only fourth here last month, but the experience was clearly not lost on her as she scored in the Group 3 Prix Six Perfections under Ryan Moore.

"They went a good pace and Ryan gave her a lovely ride," said Charlie Hills, who is set to be represented by Garrus in the Prix Maurice de Gheest on Sunday. "She obviously learnt a good bit from going round there before.

"I'd be quite conscious of giving her a little break now. She's been over to France twice and there are some lovely races she can go for in the autumn.

"There’s the Rockfel over this trip and she’ll definitely get a mile as well. She was probably idling a bit close home," he added.
