He had a clear class edge at Deauville, going off the 4-5 favourite, so it would have been disappointing if he'd failed to win like he did. That said, he hasn't seen a race out better this season and the drop back to 7f – a trip which he excelled at as a juvenile – clearly suited.

However the Group 1 programme for that distance is pretty slim. It's therefore likely we'll see him back at a mile, but I'd be thinking about sprinting at some stage. We know he's got loads of pace and, with Blue Point retired, some of those Group 1s could be there for the taking.
