Home Of The Brave sets up Group 1 bid with Rosehill breeze

Glyn Schofield looks to have found the key to talented import Home Of The Brave, who demolished his rivals in the 6½f Group 2 Theo Marks Stakes at Rosehill on Saturday.

The Godolphin import, a dual Group 3 winner in Britain for Hugo Palmer, made all under Schofield and had many of his rivals – which included four individual Group 1 winners, among them the Everest-bound Trapeze Artist and Rosehill Guineas winner D'Argento – off the bit before the turn.

The two-length victory has prompted trainer James Cummings to eye a return to Melbourne, where the 7f Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes at Caulfield on September 22 is among several targets.

"He's got a lot of spunk about him, his foot is always on the accelerator, he wants to go but he's got ability to go with it which is great," Schofield said.
