Waldgeist rates an average winner of the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe with a Racing Post Rating of 128 after getting the better of Enable by just under two lengths.

He sits between Workforce (130) and Golden Horn (127) among the recent colts to win the race, with all the other winners from the last decade being fillies.

The most obvious analysis angle on the race is that the pace collapsed notably in the closing stages (13.1 seconds for the last 200 metres), with favourite Enable unable to keep up her gallop on the very soft ground.
