Almost absurd, epic and nigh certain unrepeatable. It was time to suspend disbelief and stop all the clocks of the possible after Aidan O’Brien carved out a scarcely credible 1-2-3 in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.

This was a unique and memorable Arc on a host of joyous fronts.

Europe’s greatest race is currently on tour having left Longchamp for the boutique charms of Chantilly, with its chateau as backdrop and surrounded by the forest through which pulses the heart of French racing.
