A wonderful day for Britain ended with a wonderful performance, courtesy of Limato, whose majestic display in the Prix de la Foret looks set to provide a springboard to the Breeders' Cup. But for which race?
Having cruised through most of a contest in which he was an unlucky second 12 months ago, the July Cup winner and Nunthorpe Stakes runner-up produced a burst of acceleration under Harry Bentley that propelled him into a clear lead he held with ears pricked in nonchalance.
