Four British runners roll the dice in final Group 1 of the year in Europe

Allianz - Grosser Preis Von Bayern | Group 1 | 1m4f | 3yo+
Godolphin's Secret Advisor heads four British-trained runners in an 11-strong field for the final Group 1 of the European Flat season.
The last British-trained runner to win the Grosser Preis Von Bayern also ran in Godolphin's blue silks when Campanologist won the race for Saeed Bin Suroor ten years ago, although Manuela De Vega, a neck second in 2019 and again a runner this year, Defoe (second in 2018) and Racing History (second in 2016) were notable near misses.
A leading stayer at this year's Dubai Carnival, Secret Advisor steps into Group 1 company for the first time having had a break since chasing home Dashing Willoughby in the Listed Buckhounds Stakes at Newmarket in June.
The Charlie Appleby-trained six-year-old previously landed a decisive victory in the Group 3 Nad Al Sheba Trophy at Meydan in February.
Appleby said: "Secret Advisor enjoyed a good start to the year in Meydan and we were very pleased with him over this trip in the Buckhounds Stakes, when he went down by a length under a penalty.
"Conditions in Germany should suit and he heads there in good order. If he brings his best form to the table, it should make him competitive."
The home team have a good recent record in this and the market is dominated by three year-old pair Torquator Tasso and Dicaprio, who were separated by just a short-head in the Group 1 Grosser Preis Von Berlin at Hoppegarten last time.
Ralph Beckett and owners Waverley Racing are responsible for half of the British representatives, with Antonia De Vega joined by last year's runner-up Manuela De Vega,
Ridden by Rob Hornby to chase home Nancho 12 months ago, Manuela De Vega is partnered by Richard Kingscote on this occasion with Hornby switching to Antonia De Vega.
Hornby said: "I finished second in it last year when Manuela De Vega gave me a great spin and it's great to get a ride in the race again.
"I've ridden Antonia De Vega often at home and she goes well, although she needs to bounce back from a below-par effort at Ascot last time."
The Andrew Balding-trained Morando, who finished a creditable fourth in the Long Distance Cup last time at Ascot, completes the British quartet.
