William Haggas is set for a big weekend across three different countries, with Dubai Honour hunting for more global glory in Hong Kong's Standard Chartered Champions & Chater Cup at Sha Tin on Sunday (9.10am).

The seven-year-old was a Group 1 winner in France last year and is also a three-time winner at the highest level in Australia, with his latest triumph there coming in the Tancred Stakes last month. He was last seen finishing second when bidding for back-to-back wins in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Randwick.

Dubai Honour has his tenth race outside of Europe in the 1m4f Group 1, which carries prize-money of more than £1.3 million, and returns to Hong Kong having finished runner-up in the Hong Kong Vase in December.

He faces nine rivals including Voyage Bubble, who has won four Group 1s at Sha Tin. He was a comfortable winner of the Hong Kong Gold Cup in February and was only narrowly beaten in the Champions Mile when he was last seen in April, and Haggas is wary of the task his star will face.

“Dubai Honour is in good form,” he said. “I’m very happy with him and he should run a big race. He went over last weekend and took the journey well. Voyage Bubble is definitely the one he has to beat.”

Dubai Honour will be ridden by regular partner Tom Marquand as he bids to become the second successive British-trained winner of the Champions & Chater Cup after Rebel's Romance took it last year for Charlie Appleby.

Haggas, who runs Opportunity in the Cocked Hat Stakes at Goodwood on Saturday, will also unleash another global star closer to home this weekend when Lake Forest runs in Sunday’s Group 3 Prix du Palais-Royal at Longchamp.

The Tony Bloom and Ian McAleavy-owned four-year-old was last seen winning the ultra-valuable Golden Eagle in Australia last November and holds an entry in the Group 1 Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot next month.

Another Haggas-trained star who could head to the royal meeting is Economics, who has been off the track since disappointing in the Champion Stakes at the Berkshire track in October.

Haggas said: “He’s great and the plan is the Prince of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot.”

Economics has won four of his six starts, including the Group 1 Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown during a fine three-year-old campaign.
