Perfect Alibi set the seal on a burgeoning career when landing the Grade 1 Spinaway Stakes at Saragota, setting up a possible tilt at the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies later this year.

It was a third success from four starts for the filly, who was purchased for $220,000 from the Denali Stud consignment at the Saratoga Sale last year, and she ultimately ran out a length and a quarter winner from Frank's Rockette.

Sent off a 5-1 chance in the seven-strong field, the daughter of Sky Mesa could head to the Grade 1 Darley Alcibiades Stakes at Keeneland next month.

Trainer Mark Casse told Bloodhorse.com: "She amazes because she's so laid-back. She doesn't get excited about anything, but when the gate opens, she's tough.

"What has always lured me to the [Claiborne] Breeders' Futurity and the Alcibiades is the ability to get a two-turn race going into the Breeders' Cup. That's why we did what we did [in 2016] with [two-year-old champion] Classic Empire. You also know Mr. Farmer is from Kentucky," he added.

Winning rider Irad Ortiz Jr added: "She has a lot of heart. She likes to fight, and she has a strong kick. I think she will be better going longer, but we'll enjoy this right now and see what happens next."
