Report: Canada, Sunday

Woodbine: Natalma Stakes (Grade 1) 1m, turf, 2yo fillies

Capla Temptress and Marco Botti parted in perfect style on Sunday as the filly advertised her Breeders' Cup claims by landing the Natalma Stakes on her final start before a move to US trainer Bill Mott.

Capla Temptress was earmarked as a potential runner at the Breeders' Cup by owners Team Valor, and she secured her place at Del Mar in November with victory in this Juvenile Fillies Turf 'Win And You're In' contest.

Barry Irwin, chief executive of Team Valor, said: "I bought her with this plan in mind."

Winner of her first two starts, Capla Temptress was third in the Group 3 Sweet Solera at Newmarket last time out, and she was settled towards the rear of the field by Joel Rosario on Sunday.

Having made smooth headway round the bend, Rosario then took up the running in the final furlong and won by a comfortable three-quarters of a length.

"I was trying to let her be behind somebody all the time," Rosario said. "She was very nice. I had to tap her a little bit on the backside to get her attention. After that, she did the job."

Dixie Moon finished second for Catherine Day-Phillips, and jockey Eurico Rosa Da Silva is confident she could turn the tables with Capla Temptress if they face off again.

It was only the juvenile's second start, and Da Silva said: "The first time I got on this filly, I knew she was a very good horse. It's too bad we got beat today, but she's going to come back and beat these horses."
