Amy Murphy bidding for more French success with Manhattan Jungle
Tuesday: Deauville
Amy Murphy ran a successful French satellite yard earlier this year and bids for another notable success when Manhattan Jungle runs in the Group 3 Darley Prix de Cabourg (1.18) at Deauville on Tuesday.
Murphy, who sent out eight winners from the satellite yard, believes the Listed winner can bounce back after losing her unbeaten record when finishing down the field in the Queen Mary Stakes in June.
Murphy said: "She's in good form. She had a little setback after Ascot, but has come good very quickly. We gave her an easy month.
"It's a hot race taking on the boys, but there aren't many fillies-only races over in France so we're forced to take them on. Hopefully she gets back on track and runs well."
Aidan O'Brien sends out Group 2 Prix Robert Papin runner-up The Antarctic, while the Michael Bell-trained Kerindia – a winner on her Nottingham debut – completes the British and Irish challenge.
Sivana and Wootton City, who were first and second in a 5f Listed contest at the track last time, lead the French team, which includes the unbeaten Good Guess and Prix Robert Papin fourth Belbek.
Murphy also saddles Ipanema Princess in the Group 3 Prix Six Perfections Sky Sports Racing (12.43), in which Charlie Hills is represented by Sydneyarms Chelsea, fourth at Deauville last time.
She added: "I think she'll run well. Arguably she didn't get home at Sandown, but at the furlong pole she was running a super race. The flat seven furlongs will suit as the stiff seven that day was too much for her. Fingers crossed she can run into some black-type."
On Sydneyarms Chelsea, Hills said: "She ran well last time but was a bit fortunate in-running and we're hoping for better luck. She's a lovely filly who will get a mile in time.
"She's got a good attitude and temperament, so has been able to handle travelling to Deauville twice, and has some lovely form."
The pair face a tough task against the Pascal Bary-trained Terrestrial, who finished ahead of Syndeyarms Chelsea when second last time, while Sea The Lady and Gain It remain unbeaten.
Charlie Appleby also heads to Deauville with Musidora second Life Of Dreams, who bids to bounce back from her disappointing fifth in the Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot in the Prix de Psyche (12.10).
Appleby said: "Life Of Dreams has enjoyed a break since Royal Ascot and we feel returning to a mile and a quarter will suit. If she can reproduce her Musidora form, it will hopefully make her very competitive."
