Training partnerships are common in Australia where David Eustace, who spent time as Roger Varian's assistant, helps run Ciaron Maher's operation. Here he explains why he believes the arrangement would work well in Britain.


Training partnerships have many advantages and give people more chances. Ciaron and I aren't family, but linking up allowed him to grow quickly and consolidate without things getting too big too soon.

Owners want access to trainers, but as you get bigger and have more owners, the access to trainers is more difficult. To have two people means more contact, which will satisfy owners and if you're doing that, they're going to become more interested.
