Injury rules Mullins pair Great Field and Quick Grabim out of Cheltenham

Willie Mullins has been forced to cross two more names off his Cheltenham teamsheet, with Great Field and Quick Grabim the latest festival casualties from Closutton.

The pair join Douvan and Next Destination on the missing list after suffering setbacks.

Great Field was a general 20-1 shot for the Betway Queen Mother Champion Chase but Mullins revealed he will not take up that engagement as he has yet to recover from his final-fence fall in the Paddy's Rewards Club 'Sugar Paddy' Chase at Leopardstown over Christmas, the race in which Simply Ned overhauled Footpad in the final few strides.

Mullins said on Monday: "Great Field is still very sore after his fall at Christmas and will miss Cheltenham. We're hoping he might make Punchestown but it's probably too early to tell at this stage.

"He's been a bit unlucky but if he comes back with the same enthusiasm he's always shown then I'll be very happy."

Quick Grabim, who had been Mullins' shortest-priced horse in the Sky Bet Supreme Novices' Hurdle market at around the 14-1 mark following his all-the-way success in the Grade 1 Royal Bond Novice Hurdle, will miss the festival opener.

"Unfortunately Quick Grabim will miss Cheltenham as he's picked up a stress fracture," said Mullins.

"We're taking the long-term approach and going to give him plenty of time to recover. He's a promising horse."
