Home By The Lee gives Topofthegame a head start to competition

We are up and running in the Tote Ten To Follow jumps competition, but for those who were pinning their hopes on getting a brisk start thanks to Edwardstone or Ferny Hollow there was disappointment when they were ruled out of their weekend engagements.

Edwardstone is included in more than 20 per cent of teams and was the 13th most popular pick in the competition, while Ferny Hollow was not far behind with 13 per cent of players including him.

There was frustration too for the many supporters of Flooring Porter and Gentleman De Mee, who looked to have good opportunities to make a winning contribution but fluffed their lines.

Instead, the Lismullen Hurdle was snatched with an enterprising ride by JJ Slevin on Home By The Lee, who sailed into top spot in the scoring list with 52.50 points helped by 32.50 points for his Tote win and place return of £32.50, while 12.5 per cent of stables had the runner-up Bob Olinger.

Home By The Lee was one of three winners in the Topofthegame squad which heads the leaderboard. It was among 0.3 per cent of stables to have Greatwood Hurdle winner I Like To Move It on board for 27.30 points, and among 0.4 per cent who had Fortria Chase scorer Captain Guinness who supplied 22.80 points.

The picture will change this week with the two most popular picks, A Plus Tard and Constitution Hill, likely to be in action. They are each included in more than 70 per cent of teams.
