William Hill have extended their minimum bet guarantee on Saturday's racing, although it will not apply to the bet365 Cambridgeshire after it was withdrawn in favour of extra places.

The bookmaker said more punters would benefit from them offering seven places in the Newmarket handicap than the guarantee, under which Hills lay customers to lose up to £5,000 on win bets in betting shops and £1,000 online on races shown on ITV Racing from 10am on the day of race.

William Hill introduced a similar policy for last weekend's Ayr Gold Cup, leading some customers to believe the minimum bet guarantee that was introduced in April had been withdrawn across the board.

However, Hills said the ITV offer remained in place this Saturday while they have also extended the minimum bet guarantee – at the lower level of £2,500 in retail and £500 online – for the races at Newmarket and Haydock not being shown by ITV.
