Inspiral has been given the green light to tackle colts for the first time on Sunday in France after shining in a crucial workout in Newmarket this morning.

Partnered by Frankie Dettori, the Royal Ascot winner scooted about seven lengths clear of a decent lead horse on the Cambridge Road Polytrack, and will have a crack at the Group 1 Prix Jacques le Marois, for which she is generally 9-2 third favourite behind Coroebus and Maljoom.

The importance of this morning’s exercise was indicated by the presence of four representatives of Inspiral’s owners, Cheveley Park Stud, including racing manager Chris Richardson.
