Henrietta Knight: Ireland doesn't just have the top horses, but the top trainers

Henrietta Knight, who sent out Best Mate to win a hat-trick of Gold Cups, said Ireland was dominating the Cheltenham Festival because their trainers were better than British ones.

In a stark warning to her former colleagues among the ranks of British handlers, Knight not only expects another Cheltenham Festival dominated by Irish-trained horses but believes Ireland's rich harvest of jump racing's top prizes is entirely deserved.

"It's no secret that more of the best horses are trained in Ireland, but I think the best trainers are in Ireland too," said Knight.
