'He was a horse of a lifetime for us' - Double Trigger's owner eulogises

Owner Ron Huggins has paid tribute to his legendary stayer Double Trigger, labelling him a horse of a lifetime.

Huggins bought Double Trigger as a yearling at the Goffs Orby Sale in 1992 and the flashy chestnut would go on to win 14 of his 29 starts.

"Double Trigger was a horse of a lifetime for us," he said. "What was really good was that he reinvigorated interest in the staying division at the time and was a real character with his flashy face and four white socks and he was a front-runner, which people liked.
