Haggas seeking more French success with speedy Queen Of Bermuda
Queen Of Bermuda moves up from Listed to Group class on Saturday as she seeks her second win in France this season.
She contests the Group 3 Prix d'Arenberg at Chantilly and is part of a strong British trio in that race that also comprises Windsor Castle winner and Molecomb third Soldier's Call from the Archie Watson stable, and Second Generation, winner of a Listed prize at Vichy last time for James Tate.
Queen Of Bermuda is already a three-time winner for William Haggas over the minimum trip and held on by a short neck in the Prix de la Vallee d'Auge at Deauville two weeks ago.
Her only run in Group company was in the Molecomb at Goodwood, in which she finished two places behind Soldier's Call when fifth.
Haggas said: "She won a Listed race last time and deserves a step up in grade. She's good at five furlongs and has a chance."
In Germany on Saturday Hughie Morrison continues his quest to land a Group race with four-year-old Star Rock.
Last time out she finished third behind Pilaster and subsequent March Stakes winner Maid Up in the Group 2 Lillie Langtry Stakes.
She is one of 11 set to line up for the Group 2 T Von Zastrow Stutenpreis at Baden-Baden, which has also attracted the Mark Johnston-trained Titi Makfi and Night Of England, runner-up in the German Oaks.
Morrison said: "We're trying to find the right Group races for Star Rock and hopefully this fits into her schedule having run a month ago.
"She ran very well at Goodwood, where she was possibly a little unlucky. She is second top-rated. The German Oaks second is in it and that would be very good form. She'll have to improve again and run to her best to be thereabouts."
