Hugo Palmer's wish to retain stable star Galileo Gold in his yard for another campaign has been granted after the owners of this year's 2,000 Guineas winner agreed to keep him in training as a four-year-old.

The colt's season, which began in a blaze of glory with victory at Newmarket in the spring followed by success at Royal Ascot, ended disappointingly when he finished fifth behind Minding in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes on Saturday.

But Palmer hopes Galileo Gold can come back an improved horse for a break next year when the $6 million Dubai Turf could be his first objective.
