The mercury was already at 22C in West Suffolk by the time the talismanic chestnut appeared at second lot where he was partnered by Frankie Dettori in a mile exercise on the Al Bahathri Polytrack. Unlike last time at Royal Ascot, the seven-year-old encountered no traffic problems as he swept clear of his lead horse with his rider looking around and is firmly on course for a record fifth Goodwood Cup on Tuesday week.
