Gordon Lord Byron documentary to be screened this week
A documentary on the career of three-time Group 1 winner Gordon Lord Byron will be premiered in the Killashee House Hotel in Naas, County Kildare on Sunday at 7.30pm.
The film, titled Against The Odds – Racing with Gordon Lord Byron, was produced by Nicholas Ryan Purcell Productions in association with Horse Racing Ireland and Irish Thoroughbred Marketing. It charts the rise of the Tom Hogan-trained eight-year-old, who went from a 78-rated handicapper to a much-travelled campaigner who has achieved Group 1 success in France, Britain and Australia.
Hogan said on Monday: "Nicholas is a friend of the Cahalan family who own Gordon Lord Byron and the documentary includes race footage and interviews with most people who have been involved with horse from the very beginning. He's done a good job. Those interviewed include Australian jockey Craig Williams, who rode Gordon Lord Byron to his Group 1 win at Randwick in 2014."
