Market movers: Yes the answer

Yesyes (3.15) has been shortened to 4-1 second favourite (from 11-2) in opposition to 5-2 favourite Free Wind in the Park Hill Stakes.

The Ralph Beckett-trained filly was a Listed winner at Chester on her last start and is ridden by Ryan Moore. She has 12lb to find with the favourite on official ratings but is very much open to improvement after four starts.

Ever Given (2.10) has been backed to gain consecutive wins in valuable sales races, shortening to a general 2-1 favourite (from 10-3).

The Tom Dascombe-trained juvenile landed a similar event at York's Ebor festival last month and is the one to beat on ratings. Harrow (4-1) and 6-1 chance Jazz Club are the only other single-figure priced runners in the 21-strong race.

Course-and-distance winner Ataser (3.45) has been backed at big prices for the 7f handicap.

The Terry Kent-trained three-year-old landed a nursery at this meeting last year and failed to fire on his sole start this season in the Britannia Stakes at Royal Ascot. He is a general 14-1 shot (from 20) and as short as 10-1 in some places.

2.10 Ever Given 2-1 (from 10-3)
3.15 Yesyes 4-1 (from 11-2)
3.45 Ataser 14-1 (from 20)

Going update: no change to description

The going remains good to firm at Doncaster for day two of the St Leger festival.

Only 1mm of rain had fallen on Town Moor up to 7.30am and there is a reduced risk of showers at the track for the remainder of the meeting.

Khaadem set a course record in Wednesday’s Listed Scarbrough Stakes over five furlongs and officials will consider watering after Thursday’s racing if the dry weather continues.

ITV Racing tips: one key runner from each race on ITV3 on day two at Doncaster

Clerk of the course Roderick Duncan said at 7.30am: “We remain unchanged at good to firm and there’s been one millimetre of rain so far this morning. There’s a slightly reduced chance of rain during the course of racing today and we’re not expecting as much as previously forecasted, potentially in the region of one to three millimetres.

“There’s a reduced risk of showers on Friday, some forecasts have taken out the showers altogether while others haven’t, and a chance of some rain on Saturday morning, but not amounting to any significant quantity.

“If it remains mainly dry during today, we may look at watering overnight going into Friday. The ground didn’t move a lot yesterday despite the warm weather.”

Following 7mm of rain overnight, the going at Leopardstown for day one of Irish Champions Weekend on Saturday is good, good to firm in places (from good to firm, good in places). The going has also eased for day two at the Curragh on Sunday, now described as good on the straight course and good, good to firm in places (from good to firm) on the round course after the same quantity of rain.

Non-runners: two out in big races

There is an absentee in each of the Group races on day two as Kawida misses the Cazoo May Hill Stakes (2.40) and Glenartney will not contest the Hippo Pro3 Park Hill Fillies’ Stakes (3.15) on account of the ground.

Kawida, a Haydock fillies’ maiden winner on her last start, was a 20-1 shot for the May Hill, and Glenartney, third in Listed company on her last two runs, was a 14-1 shot in the Park Hill.

Top stories: Dettori takes aim

Frankie fever could well take over on day two as Dettori rides the favourite in the Group races, partnering Inspiral in the May Hill and Free Wind in the Park Hill for John and Thady Gosden.

Inspiral is long odds on to extend her unbeaten record to three and may provide clues to next year's Classics as she heads the ante-post betting for the 1,000 Guineas and Oaks.

Free Wind arrives on the back of victory in the Prix Minerve and looks the one to beat, although rivals Save A Forest and Yesyes are recent Listed winners. Dettori also rides 25-1 shot Claim The Stars (2.10) in the two-year-old sales races and Harrovian (4.15) in the three-runner finale.
