Going news, market movers and punting pointers

Pontefract stages the best of the British action on Sunday
1 of 1

Sunday may traditionally be a low-key day of racing in Britain but there's Listed action at Pontefract, where the mile Pomfret Stakes (3.35) is the highlight. Sir Michael Stoute had a day to enjoy on Saturday with a one-two in the King George and he is responsible for market leader Gabr.

In France there's Group 1 action – and British representation – as Marco Botti's Royal Ascot heroine Aljazzi tackles the Prix Rothschild.

With the seven-day Galway festival starting on Monday there is understandably no racing in Ireland today.

What to back

Pricewise hit the back of the net twice on Saturday, firing home winners at 5-1 and 9-1. Members can get his take on the Prix Rothschild at Deauville.

James Hill has a strong fancy at Uttoxeter, and it doesn't take him long to make his case.

What to read

Look back on a stunning King George, won in thrilling style by Poet's Word, with this big-race report from Jon Lees.

Members can find out how Poet's Word ranks compared to past King George champions.

What to watch

A one hour documentary made by Bafta-winning film maker Alison Millar looks at the life and death of Derby hero Shergar, who was stolen at gunpoint from the Aga Khan's Ballymany Stud in 1983. Searching For Shergar will be shown on Sunday at 8pm on BBC2. Here's a sneak peek.

It's the Hungarian Grand Prix and our ace F1 tipster has found a good bet, which you can view here.

Hurling fans are also in for a treat as Cork take on Limerick.

Final thought

The King George was a fascinating clash between two top-class horses. With the three-year-olds looking like an underwhelming bunch, it would be little surprise were Poet's Word and Crystal Ocean fighting out the finish to the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.
