Going news, market movers and punting pointers for the day's two cards

Goodwood: one of two courses to race on Sunday
1 of 1

With a blank day in Ireland to help ease the workload of stable staff, it is a rather quiet Sunday on the racing front. But it is not a day without quality.

The Nottinghamshire Oaks takes place at – you've guessed it – Nottingham and while it doesn't look a high quality Listed race it is a competitive one and should make for a decent betting heat.

Goodwood and Nottingham racecards

Racing also takes place at Goodwood, where there is always at least a sprinkling of quality on offer. Tamreer created a good impression when successful on debut and it will be interesting to see if he can bolster that positive view in the novice stakes (4.55).

It's the French open final on Sunday and tennis expert Adrian Humphries is not in a hurry to oppose perennial champion Rafa Nadal.

Final thought

American Pharoah may have achieved the Triple Crown relatively recently (2015) but that does not diminish the achievement of Justify. He is only the second to achieve the feat since 1978 and the first to do it without having raced at two, a remarkable racehorse.
