Glory And Fortune brings no reward but Bravemansgame helps Frog leap to the top

Bravemansgame clears the water jump on his way to winning at Newbury and gaining 11.73 points to take the stable of Shed The Frog to first place in the Tote Ten To Follow

One of the hardest to predict of the Tote Ten To Follow bonus races proved typically elusive at the weekend when Glory And Fortune landed the Betfair Hurdle for a Tote win dividend of 21.00. The Tom Lacey-trained seven-year-old had failed to impress a single player before the competition began in November and so went unpicked by Ten To Follow stables.

The 66.10 points earned at Newbury that lifted Glory And Fortune into seventh place in the list of leading horses thus go begging. The Champion Hurdle remains a target for the winner.

Of more significance to Ten To Follow stables was Bravemansgame’s success in handicap company at Newbury, with 14.9 per cent of teams having him on board. The 11.73 points gained there helped the stable of Shed The Frog 26 to climb to first place on the leaderboard and provided a boost to six of the top ten teams in the league.

At Warwick, the Arkle Chase contender Edwardstone secured his fourth victory of this Ten To Follow campaign in the Kingmaker Chase. In doing so he added another 21.91 points to his tally, raising him to second spot in the list of leading horses, just 0.18 points behind Cloudy Glen who still leads the way after his Ladbrokes Trophy success in November.

Funamble Sivola continued Venetia Williams’ sparkling form to win the Game Spirit Chase and add 23.25 points to his total, while Elle Est Belle notched 16.38 points at Huntingdon and Snow Leopardess set up a Grand National attempt by winning at Exeter.

There were also notable victories for Elimay (14.12 points), Billaway (12.50) and Journey With Me (12.22) at Naas, Ballyandy (13.25) at Fakenham and Gentleman De Mee (12.52) at Thurles.
