One of three tracks in Oklahoma, Will Rogers Downs is one of the smaller and lesser-known courses across the US and has a grandstand that holds just 2,700 people.

Established as a quarter horse racing venue and casino, Will Rogers provides thoroughbred racing only between the months of March and May each year.

With quality often thin on the ground, those with early pace can dominate contests here on the mile-round dirt track as a change of gear is not always available with regular performers at the course. Unlike most courses, Will Rogers does not have a turf track.

Floyd Wethey jnr is the best rider at the track, notching a 23 per cent strike-rate over the last two years. He often rides for Scott E Young, who is the leading trainer.

The combination of Ty Kennedy and Robertino Diodoro is well worth following here, while rider Benny Landeros posted a win strike-rate of 29 per cent (22 winners from 77 runners) last year.
