Fuller proud to represent racing at prestigious awards
Champion female amateur rider Page Fuller said on Friday she had been proud to represent racing at the prestigious Women of the Future Awards, held at the London Hilton on Park Lane.
The awards celebrate the accomplishments of female talent under the age of 35 and, although she didn’t win the sports category on Wednesday – which was sponsored by the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival – Fuller was proud to be shortlisted and had a great time.
“Unfortunately I didn’t win,” she said. “There were some very high-powered women in my category and I felt honoured to be a part of it.
“It was good for racing to be represented and lovely for my name to be there.”
She added: “It was an amazing night. There were quite a few categories and it was all very inspiring. I met some very interesting people. Pinky Lilani, who founded the awards in 2006, is a fantastic role model.”
Fuller, who heard she had been shortlisted for an award in September, has been “ticking away steadily” this jumps season and is back in the saddle on Sunday at Fontwell, when she partners Cloud Hopper for Jamie Snowden in the juvenile hurdle.
