There can be no complaints about the distribution of racing today and there is plenty of it with a good geographical spread from Hamilton in the evening to Newbury's first day of their two-day fixture.

Both meetings have a Listed feature with Hamilton's boasting the bigger purse courtesy of the British Stallions Stud EBF Glasgow Stakes (8.10), which has been won by horses such as Group 1 winners Hunter's Light, Postponed and Defoe.

Nottingham and Haydock complement Newbury in the afternoon with Killarney winding up their five-day festival in Ireland.

Newmarket and Pontefract join Hamilton in the evening while Kilbeggan host the sole card over jumps.

What to watch

How odd will it be if Richard Fahey wins a fourth Weatherbys Super Sprint? The Musley Bank trainer has won this Newbury feature on Saturday in 2013, 2015 and 2017, so 2019 has the right numerals to continue the sequence and the trainer sounds bullish

Cricket is the sport that just keeps on giving. Moving quickly on from the World Cup to the Vitality T20 Blast, after yesterday's openers it is Hampshire and Sussex in front of the Sky Sports cameras tonight and James Milton has a 13-2 bet in the match.

Final thought

There is no doubting Danny Tudhope's commitment to the cause of becoming champion jockey as he has nine rides today and ten tomorrow as he puts in double shifts on both days starting first at Haydock and then Pontefract.
