Freewheelin Dylan the tenth 100-1-plus winner in Ireland in less than ten months

Two-thirds of Irish winners who have returned at 100-1 or bigger since 1988 have been in the last ten months with no bookmakers on course.

Freewheelin Dylan made history on Monday by becoming the biggest-priced winner of the Irish Grand National at 150-1 and in doing so he was the 15th Irish winner to have had an SP of 100-1 or bigger in the last 33 years. Josies Orders won a handicap hurdle at Cork at 100-1 on Sunday just a day before Freewheelin Dylan's success.

Of the 15 winners at 100-1 or bigger, ten have occurred since racing went behind closed doors in Ireland last June with no on-course layers offering odds.
