Four runners worth keeping an eye on this evening
Two meetings at opposite ends of the country this evening with Windsor (5.10) and Carlisle (5.30) taking place, and the action can be seen via At The Races and Racing UK respectively. Here are a few runners worth keeping an eye on...
Bahamian Dollar
6.45 Windsor
Chelsea's Boy
8.00 Carlisle
Tawseef
8.00 Carlisle
John Joiner
8.15 Windsor
Bahamian Dollar (6.45 Windsor)
Bahamian Dollar has shown his best form in recent runs thanks to a woman’s touch with the talented Katherine Glenister excelling in the saddle.
Bahamian Dollar has won two of his last three starts (second both runs before) and is up just 2lb for winning gamely at Chepstow last time out.
Connections will be hoping for a good run from Bahamian Dollar, with this race a qualifier for the £75,000 Sky Bet Windsor Sprint Series final on August 21.
Chelsea’s Boy & Tawseef (8.00 Carlisle)
You suspect Donald McCain is wishing for a dead-heat for first between Chelsea’s Boy and Tawseef in the 2m1f pro-am handicap.
You see, the trainer is legging up daughters Abbie (Chelsea’s Boy) and Ella (Tawseef) for this contest, the only race in which they compete against each other on the entire all-female card.
Should one perform significantly better than the other, the trainer can surely be expected to cop plenty of the blame for the run.
John Joiner (8.15 Windsor)
Josephine Gordon would have been the star name on Carlisle’s unique card this evening, but instead she travels to Windsor for one ride in the final race.
Gordon has ridden the five-year-old twice before, finishing second and then winning over course-and-distance last summer. She has not ridden him since and he is starting to look fairly handicapped again.
Going Report
Windsor: Good to firm, good in places (GoingStick: 7.8)
Carlisle: Good to soft (GoingStick 6.9)
